Here is a tip to remove Continuous Auto focus in Videos while recording using smartphones.
Today smartphones comes with PDAF (Phase Detect Auto Focus) which automatically focus on subjects. This will make us to capture a picture within a fraction of seconds. Sony is developing Hybrid Auto focus system in its smartphones. It's newly announced X Series smartphones will open the camera app and capture the image within 0.6 seconds and the subject will be in focus. We can also use touch focus to focus on our desires object. And it's helpful for taking pictures.
But what about recording videos. It was really annoying the continuous Auto focus system while we are recording videos. While we are recording a macro video sometimes the PDAF will automatically focus on long subjects. Which will make our Macro subject out of focus and the video will be blurred.
So I found a way to remove the continuous Auto focus in Videos as well as in pictures. I don't know whether this option is present in all Camera applications. I found it on COS Camera named Camera Next Mod. Follow the instructions below to remove Continuous auto focus from your videos.

Now turn on your Video recording mode and record videos. While recording use touch focus to focus your object. If it's a near by object the camera will focus on that distance only. If you want to focus on long object you have to use touch focus again. You can use this method for your Still images.
Xperia z5 camera is the best camera at this point and better than Galaxy S7. The best thing you have to do is switch to manual mode to take the best picture.
ReplyDeleteSmartphone are meant to take pictures in auto mode, but photography is meant to take pictures in manual mode, don't know whether it make any sense ;)
