Which ROM Better Official Xperia vs CM Custom Roms

Which Android ROM Will you use for your smartphone The Custom ROMs like Cyanogen Mod or Official Xperia Rom

There are so many custom Roms available for Sony Xperia devices, Samsung Galaxy Series and for other Smartphone manufacturer Except Apple. So there arises a question whether the Custom Roms are better than the Stock Android versions in Sony Xperia devices.
For the low end devices like Xperia M, Xperia E Series the Software updates are limited so that New Android software is not officially available. Also the old ones lack new security features and are vulnerable to security threats. So If you need better protection and want to experience latest Android software it will be better to use Custom Android Software like CyanogenMod. Currently a security loop hole is present is almost all android smartphone called Stagefright which will help the hacker remotely control your smartphones. These security updates will be easily available for the Custom Roms like CyanogenMod.

But in the case of Xperia Devices in which the android version is above 4.3 Jelly Bean we can experience a better UI experience and Battery Backup.
I am using Sony Xperia M dual. I tried to install CM 12 and CM 12.1 in my device. But I am sticking with stock Xperia Rom which I felt convenient.
