Smartphone Product Photography Tips for E-Commerce

Take Great Pictures of Product photo using a Smartphone Camera and Household materials to Publish in Websites and E- Commerce Websites.

If you are having a Good Smartphone camera, you can take great pictures of small and medium size products easily. All you need is little bit knowledge in photography and editing. You edit photos taken using your smartphone by Snapseed a powerful photo editing tool by Google. It is free to use on Android ans iOS, Also Adobe provides Free editing tool named as Adobe Lightroom in Android and iOS devices.

Requirements

A Good Camera Phone/ DSLR

A4 White Papers ( for small products)

Chart paper (For Medium sized products

A room which has plenty of lights coming ( You can use USB lights instead)

How to Take Product Pictures using Smartphone?

Before that you have to setup your mini studio

• Place two A4 Sheets as shown in the picture below. Make sure the vertical sheet makes a curve at bottom
• Place your product at the center
• Use your smartphone near the object to take a macro shot
• Take Multiple pictures at different angles.
• Try to reduce shadows, if you are using USB lights you should have at least 3 USB lights for taking pictures without Shadows

Editing Pictures

You can use Snapseed editing tool provided by Google from Google Play store as well as Apple store. It is a Free software.

While editing increase the Brightness to a Maximum so that the dark colours in the White paper will not be there and you will get a pure white background.

You will notice light dark background in this picture because when I took this picture the light was really dim and this is the maximum brightness I can choose using Snapseed

The White background is more white here which makes it a Good product photo
