Transfer/Convert OEM Windows 10 License to New PC or Laptop if your Motherboard fails or Buying a New Laptop With DOS
Before the Windows 10, Microsoft's licensing was different. Windows XP has Serial Numbers. In Windows 7 Laptop and Computer manufacturing company included OEM Licensing in which you will get Pre installed windows PC/Laptop. When it comes to Windows 8 Serial numbers are gone. The License keys are directly embedded into the motherboard by Computer manufacturers. So the users need not to enter the serial keys manually. But problems will arise after changing your motherboard, after failure or upgrading your motherboard. Because you don't know the serial numbers.
When Windows announced free upgrade for Windows 7 and 8 users, Microsoft implemented a new way of licensing. All the Windows license are now connected to users Microsoft account and the activation is done through online. If you connected your Windows 10 license with a Microsoft account, you can use the same license even if you have changed the hardware of your PC/Laptop.
