Is it better to Remove Battery from Laptop and Use it With AC Supply Only to increase Battery Life?
Many of the Laptop users are facing battery backup problem by continuously using laptop battery by charging and discharging. If you don't know about it, in case of Li-ion batteries its capacity will decrease after continuous charging and discharging.
For example a battery charged up to 70% and discharged to 20%, then again charged to 70% and discharged to 20% will have more lifespan than a battery charged to 100% then discharged to 0% and again charged to 100%.
In the same way a laptop can be used without a battery as we are using our PC. But we use UPS for our PC because if a power failure occurs and computer switch off suddenly its internal components will damage and computer failure occurs. In the case of Laptop if a power failure occurs the damage caused can be more than a PC can.
If you have any UPS with you, you can remove your battery from your laptop and use it by directly connecting it to the UPS. If a power failure occurs you can turn off your laptop before the UPS turn off by itself.

So when you can use Laptop without a Battery?
If you want to use your laptop whole day or more than 4 hours continuously it is better to use without battery. Because if you want to run your laptop in a whole day your battery is charging and discharging continuously which will surely harm battery life.
If you can have continuous power supply to your laptop it is better to use it without installing a battery.
In my case I use laptop mainly in my home. There will not be any power failure in my home since I installed an inverter in my home. So when a power failure occurs inverter will supply electricity within fraction of a second. So I use my laptop without the battery installed. So that whenever I travel I can use the full power of my battery without any issues. If you have any UPS with you, you can remove your battery from your laptop and use it by directly connecting it to the UPS. If a power failure occurs you can turn off your laptop before the UPS turn off by itself.
What are the Benefits of removing Battery from Laptop?
As said earlier when the number of charging cycle increases in case of a Li-ion battery, it will degrade periodically. That is why most of the laptop battery fails after 1 year. If your battery backup is 4 hour when you first purchased it, after one year it will be reduced to 2 hours. It is not your fault, it was due to Li-ion batteries.
So when you remove your battery and use it with Direct AC Supply number of charging cycles in one year is reduced and same charging capacity is kept in your laptop even after first year, second year or third year.
Is there any Problem by using Laptop from direct AC Supply?
No, you can use Laptop by connecting it to direct AC Power supply by using its original charger. Because Laptop and its batteries are designed in such a way that whenever your battery charges up to 100%, Laptop uses its power directly from the AC Source rather than from its fully charged battery. The laptop charging adapters made in such a way so that you can use it without a battery installed in it.
