DSLR vs Smartphone Camera: Do You Still Need DSLR

Smartphone Cameras has been evolved and you can capture whole your moments even in Low light situations So do you need a DSLR

I am not a professional photographer and I don't have any Facebook page with my photographs. So all I am writing in this article is my own personal opinion..May be some of you agree with me and some of you disagree, whether you agree or disagree you can say your words in the comment section I am writing this article by considering the passion towards photography and the Money management system.
Now a days all of you know that Smartphones camera has been evolved dramatically. You can even get a 41 MP camera from Lumia Windows smartphone and finally it stands up to latest Samsung S7's dual pixel technology from Sony sensor. There are so many Smartphones are available in the market like Sony Xperia Z5, Oneplus 2, LG G4, Samsung Galaxy S6, Yu Yutopia, Lumia 950,Apple Iphone 6S and recently introduced Sony Xperia X, LG G5 etc. Do you think these smartphones are capable of replacing the DSLR? of course not. But many of you can be satisfied with these smartphones. I am not comparing which smartphones are better here.

Do You Need a DSLR?

First my thought was all photos taken with DSLR will be a Wow shot. But I understood it will not be from  my first DSLR click with Nikon D5100. Some of those Wow Shots are attaching below. Even though I used manual settings I don't know what those manual settings were used to.

This was a macro shot in the evening around 4 pm due to the correct manual settings it becomes like this :)

In these Examples I used Manual ISO Settings and edited using Adobe Lightroom. Do you think these kinds of image quality is needed for you.
As I already mentioned I am not a professional photographer. I am a person just like you who loves taking photos and doesn't means I need a DSLR to take pictures.
So don't think that by getting a DSLR you can capture Wow photos. DSLR are mainly used for manual settings like Aperture size control and Shutter speed adjustments to get required exposure level for your image. Under exposure and over exposure will make your images look like above photos.
So Before making purchase of a DSLR keep in mind that a DSLR cannot create a Professional photographer. If you want to capture pictures around you to post it in Facebook and social media I won't recommend buying it. Because everyone can take pictures using DSLR but to get an awesome shot you should master your DSLR. Otherwise you will be simply wasting your money.
So I recommend DSLR camera for

• Those who consider photography as a passion ( Everybody likes to take pictures that doesn't mean you are passionate about photography)
• Who are considering themselves to become a professional photographer and make money from it
• Who like taking photos of Birds, Butterflies. But you need Zoom lens additionally to take these kinds of pictures using DSLR. Standard lens kit will not be good enough for that
• You are having lots of money and don't know how to waste it
• And finally to Students who want to be a star in their school and colleges :)

After reading this and seeing the pictures shot with DSLR and with Smartphone what are you thinking, Are you considering to buy a new DSLR?
